First Assistant Secretary, Treasury
Kate O’Rourke is the First Assistant Secretary for the Consumer Data Right Division at Treasury. Her team advises the Government on the overall CDR strategy, and oversees the governance, rules development, funding and leadership of the CDR program, in close partnership with the ACCC and OIAC. The Data Standards Body sits within the Division and is responsible for assisting the Data Standards Chair with the development and making of CDR’s technical and CX standards and guidance.
Kate has a legal and economics background, has practiced in takeovers and capital markets law in New York and in Australia, and has held other senior roles in Treasury and in ASIC, working on capital markets, corporations, financial services, financial reporting, managed investment schemes and currency.
