Ron Spector has had a successful career as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, investment banker, CEO and innovation executive. In 2018 Ron established ANZi – the innovation and investment arm of ANZ Bank and in
2021 led the externalization of ANZi and the founding of 1835i where he is the CEO and Managing Director of 1835i Ventures. Ron sits on the boards of The Lendi Group, OneTwo Finance, Slyp, DiviPay and
Valiant and is an observer on the boards of Airwallex and BUD.
Formerly – Ron was US head of Technology Investment Banking of Macquarie Group responsible for private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions and Co-Investment Director for Macquarie Venture Capital, a $150 million early-stage investment fund. Ron was also the Chairman of the Board of Meta Design from 2001-2008, an advisor to San Francisco’s KickLabs accelerator and Startup Monthly and is a frequent panelist and speaker.
Ron has also held numerous operational roles as CEO of Conferserv, an online video collaboration company (acquired by Advanced Media Design), Senior Vice-President of Corporate Development and Strategy for Mediazone, Inc. (a division of MIH/Naspers, [NASDAQ: NPSN]) and CEO of Fordela, a cloud-based video management company.
Ron has also been a Silicon Valley advisor to a number of corporate venture and innovation groups including Samsung MSCA, Wesfarmers Emerging Ventures, Federation Centres Ltd. (now Vicinity Centres), Coles, IAG Ventures, ANZ Bank, Zee India (Asia TV Limited) and others.
Ron holds a B.A in Political Science and Economics (Honors) from the University of California at San Diego and his Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D. Honors) from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and lives in Sydney Australia with his wife Laureen and their two young daughters Ella and Mia and their dogs Cosmo and
