I am an Australian lawyer in the Litigation & Regulatory team at DLA Piper. I have been practising as a litigation lawyer for over 14 years, including 5 years in London, specialising in insurance and general commercial litigation. I act for a wide range of insurers (local, global and London market insurers), reinsurers and corporate clients. I have significant experience across all areas of insurance law, with a particular focus on professional indemnity and D&O claims. I regularly advise insurers on policy coverage for a variety of insurance products, including professional indemnity policies, product liability policies, management liability policies and cyber policies. I have acted for a wide variety of professionals including accountants, auditors, financial advisers, insurance brokers, lawyers, engineers, architects, surveyors and project managers. I regularly act for professionals in professional conduct inquiries and represent companies in regulatory inquiries. I have also represented a number of insurer clients in class actions, including investor class actions. In the area of general commercial litigation, I act for a variety of corporate and commercial clients providing advice and strategic recommendations on a wide range of disputes and potential disputes, including competition matters, contractual disputes and shareholder disputes. I have a keen interest in all things tech related and the impact technology is having on the way we do business, especially in the insurance industry. I founded the Insurtech Melbourne group in 2016 and collaborate with many key stakeholders in relation to insurtech.
